New Website to give Practising Lawyers in Ontario an Information Exchange Platform

Toronto – The County and District Law Presidents’ Association (CDLPA) has unveiled a brand new interactive and innovative website, www.cdlpa.org, designed to be a portal to information for practising lawyers in Ontario.

“We are calling it an information exchange platform because it’s more than a website – it’s an opportunity for lawyers to interact with their peers and discuss issues of importance to them,” said Randall Bocock, Chair of the County and District Law Presidents’ Association.

The information Exchange Platform (IEP) will also:

• Permit practising lawyers to interact with other lawyers in Ontario through a moderated forum;
• Give lawyers relevant and timely information to help them in their practices;
• Permit lawyers to participate in CDLPA on-line surveys to help CDLPA gather information quickly for advocacy purposes.

“This is an interactive and innovative site that will truly help practising lawyers. It will also help improve access to justice for all Ontarians because of the information CDLPA will be able to gather from its member associations,” said Bocock.

A media centre is also available on the new IEP to help reporters gather information on critical issues quickly and with ease. Lawyers will simply log on, create an account, provide a certain amount of critical information and become a member of the IEP.
